Overview

What Commercial restoration work involves.

Commercial restoration is a scheduling problem as much as a restoration one. The building matters, but so does keeping the business trading, protecting stock and equipment, and meeting the obligations you have to tenants, staff and inspectors.

We assess, triage what has to happen immediately, protect assets, and phase mitigation zone by zone so as much of the site stays usable as the damage allows. Night and weekend working is normal on these jobs, because it is usually cheaper than closing.

Pro tip

Note the time you discovered the damage and photograph stock and equipment before anything is moved. Business interruption claims usually turn on the timeline more than on the damage itself.

Our process

How the work runs.

01

Assess and triage

What is damaged, what is at risk, and what has to happen tonight versus what can wait until the plan is agreed.

02

Protect the assets

Stock, equipment, records and finishes moved or shielded before mitigation work begins.

03

Phase the mitigation

Cleanup and drying sequenced zone by zone so as much of the site as possible stays usable.

04

Build back

Reinstatement scheduled around your trading hours, with one point of contact throughout.

Insurance

Working with your insurer.

Commercial policies bring business interruption into play — lost income while you cannot trade, and the extra expense of working around the damage. It is frequently the largest part of a commercial claim and the part most often underdocumented.

That makes record-keeping central. We document the loss, the mitigation timeline and the phasing decisions, so your broker can evidence not just the physical damage but why the recovery was sequenced the way it was.
