01

Our commitment

We want anyone to be able to find information about our services and reach us, whatever technology they use to browse and whatever assistance they rely on.

Accessibility is not a one-off task. We review the site as we change it, and we fix problems people report to us.

02

The standard we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That is the benchmark most commonly referenced for public-facing websites.

We aim for it rather than claim it: no site of any size is permanently and provably conformant, and we would rather tell you what we are doing than publish a badge.

03

What this site does

A skip link lets keyboard users jump straight to the main content. Every interactive control shows a visible focus outline. Navigation, main content and footer are marked up as landmarks so screen readers can move between them.

Images that carry meaning have descriptive alternative text, and decorative artwork is hidden from assistive technology. Form fields have real labels rather than placeholder text alone.

Animation — the scrolling effects and the counting statistics — is disabled automatically when your device is set to reduce motion. Text can be resized and the layout reflows down to small screens without horizontal scrolling.

04

Known limitations

The map on our contact page is embedded from a third-party mapping service. We do not control its keyboard or screen reader behaviour. Every address, phone number and email shown on the map is also written out as text next to it, so you never need the map to get the information.

If you find something else that does not work, please tell us — the list above is what we know about, not everything that exists.

05

Telling us about a problem

Email hello@ridgeline.example or call (828) 555-0142 and describe what you were trying to do, which page you were on, and what got in the way. Tell us what technology you were using if you know it.

We aim to respond within five working days. If we cannot fix something quickly we will tell you when we expect to, and offer another way to get what you needed.

06

Another way to reach us

If any part of this website stops you getting help, call (828) 555-0142 and speak to a person. Nothing on this site is the only route to our services — anything you can do here you can also do by phone.

Template copy. Review it against your own practices, jurisdiction and insurance position — with counsel — before publishing.
